Windies tour of India, 2018

India vs Windies, 5th ODI | IND vs WI WHO WILL WIN

India will take on the tourists in the fifth and final IND vs WI ODI at Thiruvananthapuram as the hosts aim for their sixth consecutive ODI bilateral series win at home.

India aim eighth consecutive ODI series vs Windies; the tourists aim to salvage a draw

India stormed back valiantly at Mumbai after a heart-wrenching loss at Pune where they failed to chase down 284.

India’s last 5 ODI series at home

  • vs New Zealand, 2016- Won- 3-2
  • vs England, 2017- Won 2-1
  • vs Australia, 2017- Won 4-1
  • vs New Zealand, 2017- Won 2-1
  • vs Sri Lanka, 2017- Won 2-1

The most pleasing aspect of India’s win was that it was spearheaded by the likes of Ambati Rayudu and a young Khaleel Ahmed.

After Virat Kohli endured a rare failure when he knicked off for 16, Rayudu decided to take it upon himself to stroke a pristine 100- his 3rd in ODI cricket.

Rayudu’s hundred was the third ton by an Indian batsman at No.4 since 2015 giving Kohli and the team management a sense of relief regarding the middle-order conundrum.

With Rohit Sharma, who stroked his 21st ODI hundred (19th since January 2013), Rayudu stitched a 211-run stand to take India to 6-377 in 50 overs.

For the first time in the series, Windies batting suffered a complete meltdown thanks to the irrepressible Khaleel Ahmed (3-13) who wrecked through their batting line-up, giving India a much-needed variety to their bowling attack.

India vs Windies ODI series results since 2006′

2013:- India won 2-1 (HOME)
