England vs India, 5th Test | ENG vs IND WHO WILL WIN

After squandering the series at Southampton, Virat Kohli’s India will take on England in the fifth Test match in a bid to salvage lost pride on Friday.

Venue:- The Kia Oval, London

Match Timings:- Friday, September 07, 2018, 03:30 PM IST

India’s love affair with fourth innings collapses and inability to seize on crucial moments continued at Southampton. Twice in the game, they had England under the Kosh; at 6-87 when Sam Curran walked out to bat in the first innings and secondly when they were cruising at 2-140 with Kohli and Pujara looking set to take a big lead.

India squandered the opportunity on both occasions as Sam Curran and England’s lower middle-order took them to 246, and while batting they found a way to get out to Moeen Ali and at one stage were reduced to 8-195 before Pujara (132 not out) weathered the storm to claim a minuscule 27-run lead.

Chasing anything over 200 was always going to be tough for India against Moeen Ali, who was using the footmarks outside the right-hander’s off-stump with aplomb and it was testified when India proceeded to lose their last six wickets for 61 runs after Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane had stitched together a 101-run stand for the fourth wicket.

With the series gone, India will look to blood in the likes of Shaw or Vihari in the set-up as they aim to make it 2-3 at the Oval. England, on the other hand, will look to give a befitting farewell to Alastair Cook, who’ll retire from International cricket after the match. So, who will win ENG vs IND? Let us delve into the betting odds as part of our ENG vs IND Today match prediction.
