Aditya Agarwal and Paawan Bansal reach Day 2 of the main event of WSOP

The ongoing series of WSOP (World Series of Poker) has reached in its last leg.

Regarded as one of the most prestigious tournaments of the world, WSOP will award the much-coveted bracelet to its winner.

After winding up Day 1C, the flights of Event #65: No-Limit Hold’em Main Event- World Championship is underway now.

The main event has drawn a massive field of 7,884 participants, making it the second-biggest Main Event ever right behind the Main Event of 2006.

The Main event of 2006 had attracted 8,773 runners.

Having registered a successful run in the tournament thus far, Indians have made a strong case for themselves in the Main event.

16 Indian had marked their presence for the top honours in the final starting flight.

Paawan Bansal (145,500), Yudhishter Jaswal (76,300), Vivek Rughani (111,800),  Shashank Jain (70,000), Nikita Luther (71,000),  Aproova Goel (69,400), Nishant Sharma (63,200),  Kartik Ved (66,500), Aditya ‘Intervention’ Agarwal(60,300),  Akash Malik (54,000), Nipun Java (57,500), Sriharsha Doddapaneni (46,200),  Vikram ‘Lungi’ Kumar (28,700), Muskan Sethi(34,700), Abhinav Iyer (8,600)  and Jasven Saigal (13,000) were the Indians who made it to Day 2 of the main event.

Team India featured several members in the two preceding flights with Rohan Dhawan (112,900) and Aditya Sushat (139,600) who entered through Day 1A.

From Day 1 B, Kavin Shah (104,400), Rishabh Jain (97,600), Dharmesh Patel (128,500) and Jaswinder ‘Bobbe’ Suri (12,400) for Day 2.

This event has created a guaranteed prize pool of $74,015,600, the eventual champion of this event would be taking home $ 8,800,000 along with the title of World Champion.

20 players out of the 3,500 players who made it to Day 2 were Indian challengers who fought till the end of Day 1C.

Paawan Bansal led the way for India with a stack of 145,500.

Bansal is ranked 13th among the ‘India All Time Money’ List and he has shown  his consistent performance throughout the tournament.

He has already amassed $61,616 (INR 42.47 Lakhs) in the series this year.

Other notable players like Nikita Luther, Muskaan Sethi and Aditya Agarwal are also making big strides in the game.
