While still unsure of the cryptocurrency adoption as a whole, India and Indians seem to be taking a lot of interest in the digital asset, especially after the demonetization with Bitcoin occupying the most popular spot.
At present, the country is using the Blockchain technology for various solutions in recent times, but with precautions. India is still on a refusal to adopt the cryptocurrency for wholesale adoption.
The seventh largest state, Andhra Pradesh has announced the use of Blockchain technology in the state with the help of a Blockchain security company, WiseKey. The initiative by the state is aimed to help manage the privacy of the personal information of the citizens which is stored on state databases.
The population of Andhra Pradesh is more than 5 crore (50 million), much larger than many European countries. The state is currently looking for solutions to manage the complete enormous volume data which is required to maintain the knowledge of its citizenry.
Andhra government is doing its bit to abide by the protocols issued by the Central Government for personal privacy. WiseID, WiseKey’s app, utilises public Blockchain system which gives users the freedom to protect or share information at their discretion. The aim is to bring the platform for other solutions in the future.
