AFGH vs WI Dream11 Team | Afghanistan vs West Indies | 2019 Cricket World Cup Match Prediction

By Savya Sachi

The 42nd fixture of ICC World Cup 2019 will be played between the two departed side – Afghanistan and West Indies at Headingley, Leeds on Thursday.

Unfortunately, Afghanistan has lost all eight matches of the tournament so far, whereas, West Indies were able to notch a single victory and six defeats (Plus one no result).

Let me remind you that Afghanistan has crushed down Windies twice during last year’s World Cup qualifier.

We hope that both these teams would come up strong in the next edition of the World cup and create more chances to lift the world cup.

Toss Update: West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first

Afghanistan changes: Hamid Hassan and Shahidi are not playing. Dawlat Zadran and Shirzad are playing.

West Indies changes: Evin Lewis and Kemar Roach come in for and Sunil Ambris and Shannon Gabriel.

From Guide (last five matches):

Afghanistan: L, L, L, L, L

West Indies: L, L, L, L, L

When and Where:

AFGH, Match 42, ICC World Cup 2019

Wednesday, 4th July 2019

03:00 PM IST

Headingley, Leeds

Weather, Pitch and Venue Stats:

The pitch at Leeds mostly supports the spinner. It would not be easy for the batsmen to get runs on this surface. The weather is expected to be sunny on the match day with a gentle breeze.

Afghanistan team News:

Hamid Hasan suffered a hamstring injury against Pakistan, bringing an end to his international career.

Dawlat Zardan is likely to replace him.

Afghanistan would not make any more changes as the earlier playing 11 as they performed well against Pakistan.

West Indies team News:

Sunil Ambris has replaced Russell in the squad and could retain his place in the final fixture too.

Shannon Gabriel has been expensive, sp Kemar Roach could return in place of him.

I would pick up Mujeeb Ur Rahman as he has got wickets with the new ball throughout the World cup. Mujeeb has bagged 7 wickets so far in the tournament and would definitely do wonders in the initial overs of the game.

Shai Hopes could be an x-factor for West Indies. The 4th ranked ICC ODi batsmen have only managed to score 197 runs in seven innings so far, but he is capable of holding the innings all together, as his style and technique help him play the strong Afghan spin attack.

AFGH vs WI Dream11 Team Prediction

Fantasy picks from Afghanistan:

Najibullah Zardan has scored 199 runs in 7 innings at an average of 28.42 with highest being 51 runs. You can rely on him.

M Nabi is one of the key players and has bagged 9 wickets for his side along with 105 runs off his willow. Nabi has an average of 49.00 against West Indies. You can choose him as your captain.

G Naib has got 189 runs in 8 innings at an average of 23.62 plus 9 wickets in his pocket so far. He is in great form and would be effective. Naib has an average of 38.66 against West Indies.

Rashid Khan must be your pick because of pitch condition. He has got 5 wickets in7 innings.

Fantasy picks from West Indies:

N Pooran has scored maximum for his side. In 7 innings, he has scored 309 runs at an average of 51.50. He was exceptional in the last game and would continue playing like this.

C Gayle has notched 235 runs in 7 innings and he would be willing to score a hundred in his last game at the World Cup. He would not show any mercy to the Afghan bowlers and would end his career on a good note.

SS Cottrell is the leading wicket-taker for West Indies. He has bagged 12 wickets in 8 innings and would definitely trouble the batsmen.

Captain and Vice-Captain: C Gayle and N Pooran

Since Gabriel is not playing for West Indies, you can choose Evin Lewis in place of him.

Captain and Vice-captain: N Pooran & Mujeeb Ur Rahman
