Two teams from the southern part of India take each other on as Chennaiyin FC travel to face Kerala Blasters FC in the regular season of the Indian Super League on Friday.
Chennaiyin FC are the defending champions of the ISL and already have set the record being the team with the worst title defence. They have been struggling all season long but surprisingly came out on top against Bengaluru FC in the last game. The team finally looked like a side who knew how to win games, but it is too little too late. The franchise has still got all the talent to do some damage, but they are unlikely to be doing anything significant from this point forth in the Indian Super League as they are the last placed team.
Meanwhile, Kerala Blasters are in the second last spot in the league and they will be looking to better their goal-scoring record as well. They are tied for the least amount of goals being scored, and this saw coach David James being sacked. The management is still making some arrangement to make things right with the franchise, but right now the concentration should be to contain the collateral damage and make sure the players forget this season all together before the next campaign.
When and where?
This match is to be played at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi, India. The ground has a capacity of 40,000.
