MSL Match No.19 between Tshwane Spartans and Paarl Rocks. Both the teams are having a great run so far this MSL. Tshwane though had to go through 3 washed out games, they won 2 games when they played whereas Paarl have lost just 1 from their 6 games so far. Paarl are topping the table after beating NMG in their previous game,Tshwane are at 3 in the table, undefeated.
Pitch Report :
Centurion is the ground where these two teams are going to face off. This MSL,2 matches has been played there & unfortunately both getting abondoned due to rain, but with whatever little played, one could understand there’s enough for batting in that deck when TS scored 140+ in just 15 overs.
Team news :
No big changes expected.
Delport going through bad patch but with no options Paarl could stick with him.
Pretorius could possibly comeback in for Makhanya.
Playing XI :
TST : Elgar DeBruyn ABD Klaasen Biljon Mulder Vander Merwe TCurran Morne Sipamla Ngidi.
PR : Davids Delport Faf Vince Pretorius Mosehle Udana Adams Viljoen Fortuin Shamsi.
TST vs PR Dream XI team :
WK : Klaasen
Batters : ABD(C) Faf(vc) Vince DeBruyn Delport
Allrounders : Pretorius V Merwe
Bowlers : Curran Viljoen Shamsi.
C options : AB,Faf,Vince,Elgar
VC Options : Klaasen,Delport,Davids,Pretorius
If Pretorius doesn’t play,you can pick Elgar/Davids.
AB after going down twice,he’s back where he belongs scoring a fantastic 50 when the team were in trouble so he’s the Captain I’m choosing here.
Davids has been silently getting those 30-40s very consistently for his side and giving them pretty good starts.
This is a batting pitch but both teams are quite good with bowling, infact both have better bowling than their batting so don’t rule out the possibility of a 160-170 game.
Grand league Tips :
PV Biljon, hard hitter of the ball,we have seen Tshwane collapsing in 2 games out of 3 where they batted so Biljon coming in at 5 is a good punt considering his hard hitting ability.
Delport picked only by 18% is the man for GL,he didn’t looked troubled as his scores show,he has started off well in every game but throws it away once he gets around 18-20.
DeBruyn is another batter,he’s a very good player who didn’t look himself yet this MSL. With Davids & Elgar many will ignore him in their side so he’s a good punt.
With Spartans batting collapsing 2 out 3 games, picking Paarl Rocks bowling especially hardly picked Fortuin who is a pretty decent left arm spin as a C or VC is a good option.
