Hampshire vs Glamorgan, South Group

In what is expected to be a pulsating encounter at the Vitality Blast T20, Hampshire will take on Glamorgan in the South Group fixture at Southampton on Friday, July 05.

Hampshire is coming off a hugely successful RRoyal London campaign which saw them defeat Kent Spitfires in the finals. Rillie Rossow (125 in the finale against Kent) and James Vince were the cornerstones of their team success throughout the tournament and would be hoping to carry their form in the T20 format. In the overseas recruits, Colin Munro will add potency to their top-order while 17-year-old Mujeeb Ur Rahman will add variety to their spin department along with Mason Crane.

They’ll face two-time finalists in Glamorgan. Glamorgan will be lead by South African batsman Colin Ingram. Ingram was adjudged PCA Player of the Year last year, having stroked 59 sixes, and would be hoping to carry his form in the forthcoming season. He’ll be joined by Aussie veteran Shaun Marsh and Usman Khwaja to lend potency to the batting department, while Michael Hogan (80 wickets at 19.23) will spearhead the bowling department.

The Rose Bowl boasts of a typical T20 pitch that aids stroke-making.In five T20I thus far, the average first innings score is 174 which drops significantly to 147 while chasing. Both teams would like to bat first and make the initial use of the conditions.
