English T20 Blast

Just a few days after England lifted its maiden World Cup, the annual domestic T20 tournament is all set to roll its carpet from July 18. Six teams will meet each other for three fixtures slated to begin at 11:00 PM IST. Middlesex will take on Essex for the first game in Lord’s, London while Nottinghamshire will clash against Worcestershire in Trent Bridge. Glamorgan and Somerset will lock horns for the third match of the day in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

The league consists of 18 first-class county teams divided into two divisions of nine teams each. The finalists will meet each other in Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham on 21 September 2019.

Essex will take on Middlesex in Lord’s London for the opening fixture of the English T20 blast.

  • Australia leggie Adam Zampa has returned to the Essex Eagles for this year’s T20 Blast. He was the leading wicket-taker for the side last year,
  • After his stint with Leicestershire Foxes, Proteas batsman Cameron Delport has signed a 2 year for Essex.
  • Pakistan’s pacer Mohammad Amir has also returned to Essex Eagles. However, he will be missing initial few games.
  • Middlesex have roped in Mujeeb-ur-Rahman for the upcoming season.
  • Former Proteas skipper AB de Villiers and Jack Davies have also joined the squad.

  • Somerset have roped in Pakistan’s batsman Babar Azam. He will be available for all the league stage matches and probably for the Quarter-finals too.
  • Jerome Taylor of Windies is also all set for to feature for Somerset in English T20 Blast.
  • They have released Fin Trenouth from the squad and Johann Myburgh has taken retirement.
  • Glamorgan has roped in Fakhar Zaman in place of injured Shaun Marsh.
  • They have roped in only one overseas player for the tournament.
