After a series-levelling win in the second ODI, Pakistan women have induced life in this series and we are into the summit clash where both teams will lock horns for one last time to bag the 3 match ODI series.
Just like the previous two ODIs, this game will also be played at the ICC Academy in Dubai. After winning the first encounter by an astonishing margin of 146 runs, the Windies women slumped to a 34 runs defeat in the next game which meant that the series was alive with both teams winning one game apiece.
Pakistan women batting which has struggled throughout the series, be it ODI or T20Is, finally got going as they piled up a substantial 240 runs on the board courtesy opener Sidra Ameen’s 96 from 121 deliveries and all-rounder Nida Dar’s swashbuckling 81 off 86 deliveries.
Windies women who have looked ruthless in their approach throughout the series started well for the chase with skipper Stefanie Taylor (48 off 68) and Natasha McLean (82 off 76) got them going in the middle overs after a not so worthy start from the openers.
Once both Taylor and McLean were removed nothing much was left for the Windies women and they were eventually short of the target by 34 runs. Diana Baig and Sana Mir were the picks of the bowler’s for Pakistan women as the former got 4 while the latter clinched 3 wickets.
