The WINDIES Women’s Cricket Team began their tour of Pakistan with a bag, with a 71-run thumping of the hosts in the first Twenty 20 International of the three-match series. It was a Deandra Dottin’s onslaught of unbeaten 90 that did Pakistan Women. A 103-run stand for the third wicket between Dottin and Chedean Nation helped the visiting Windies post a par score of 160 on the board.
In reply, Pakistan did not get the right momentum in the early overs to keep up with the required rate. Barring skipper Bismah Maroof (38), none of the other Pakistan batswomen offer any resistance. Shamilia Connell, Shakera Selman and Anisa Mohammed were all-over Pakistan batsmen and bundled them for 89 to give their team a comfortable win in the series opener.
