SL-W vs SA-W Dream11 Prediction

Sri Lanka Women tour of South Africa 2nd ODI | Sri Lanka Women vs South Africa Women | SL-W vs SA-W Who Will Win

After a scintillating win in the opening game, the Proteas women will march into the next game with one thing on their mind which will be to clinch the ODI series in the second game itself.

Maiden ton from skipper Dane van Niekerk was the talking point of the last game which helped the Proteas women to go 1-0 ahead in the 3 match series. In the absence of regular opener and wicket-keeper batter Lizelle Lee, Andrie Steyn was given the responsibility to open the innings and she paid dividends with a brilliantly composed knock of 75 runs from 100 deliveries which included 5 fours and a six.

With the help of two classy knocks, the hosts put up a formidable 225 on the board for the loss of 7 wickets in a 49-overs per side game. The visitors did not had a daunting task ahead of them but they made a mockery of the chase despite a good start with the bat.

At one stage, they were cruising with 176 for the loss of 5 wickets with Shashikala Siriwardene being the workhorse with 49 runs to her name. But in a ridiculous turnaround, the visitors lost their last 4 wickets for 42 runs and eventually fell short of the target by 7 runs. Masabata Klaas was the one who inflicted pain in the Sri Lankan batting order with 3 for 46, while T Sekhukhune and skipper Dane van Niekerk bagged 2 wickets each.

Can the Proteas women clinch the series in the second game itself, or will the visitors have something left in their tank to turn around the tables? We will get the answers tomorrow.

Key players

The batting order of both these sides is almost in an identical form as of now. Be it Mignon du Preez, Laura Wolvaardt from the hosts or Nilakshi de Silva and A Sanjeewani from the visiting side, both have struggled for runs but are the cornerstone of their respective batting units.

Marizanne Kapp and visiting skipper Chamari Attapattu are efficient enough with both bat and ball and have the capability to turn the tides in their favour.

X-Factors

Proteas women skipper Dane van Niekerk who got her maiden ton in the last game will be the x-factor here. Not only with the bat, but she also made her presence felt with the ball by scalping 2 wickets.

Shashikala Siriwardene notched up 49 in the last game and was the only shining star for the visitors in the T20I series as well. Debutant from the last game Andrie Steyn is a safe bet as well.

O Ranasinghe had a brilliant day out with the ball when she scalped 3 wickets to her name. M Klaas was the leader of the attack for the Proteas women in the last game with 3 wickets to her name.

Risky Picks

  • F Tunnicliffe
