South Africa Tour of Sri Lanka 2018
Sri Lanka vs South Africa 3rd ODI
After a devastating 2-0 test match defeat, the Proteas backed themselves up in the ongoing one day international series in Sri Lanka. The South African batting lineup failed to fire up when needed in the test series but they looked a completely different side in this limited over format. After winning the toss in the last one-day international game, the hosts opted to bat first after winning the toss. Niroshan Dickwella’s 69 and skipper Angela Mathews’ unbeaten 79 gave Sri Lanka a respectable total to defend. But a strong start from the visitors with both the openers adding 91 runs on board in quick time put the Proteas in the driving seat of the game. Faf du Plessis 49 and JP Duminy’s 32 set the stage for their second ODI win.
The bowling attack of both these teams has been extraordinary but the batsmen stole the show. Lungi Ngidi was on fire in the last game as he struck twice early for his team which set the pace of the game. However, the hosts would want to bounce back in this game at any cost if they are to keep their ODI series win hope alive. The third ODI will start at 10:00 AM local at Pallekele.
Venue- Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele
Matchday- August 5, 2018, at 10:00 AM IST

Opener Niroshan Dickwella is expected to get the scoreboard ticking in this game as well for the hosts and skipper Angela Mathews would be a safe bet because he can contribute with both bat and ball and as this would be a crucial game for the hosts, the skipper is expected to lead from the front. Akila Dananjaya is also expected to turn things around for his team in this game with the ball after a great display in the last game.
The Proteas will once again bet it all on their wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock after his powerful knock in the last game alongside Hashim Amla. Faf du Plessis is another batsman who can turn around the game any time so he will also be a key batsman for the visitors. Lungi Ngidi has been very menacing with the ball in the last game and he will be expected to lead the bowling attack in this game as well.
