Big Bash League, 2018 | Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Sixers, 4th Match | PS vs SDS Who Will Win
As the caravan of the 2018 Big Bash League rolls on, Perth Scorchers will square off against Sydney Sixers at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground. This will be the second game of the tournament for the Scorchers while the Sixers will make their BBL 08 debut at home on Saturday.
Perth Scorchers had an abysmal start to their 2018 campaign as they fell to their first-ever defeat to the Renegades following a lacklustre display with the bat that saw them meander to 103 in 19 overs. Defending 104, Behendroff [2-17] and Nathan Coulter-Nile got their side off to a perfect start when they reduced the Renegades to 4-17 but brisk cameos from Sam Harper and Mohammad Nabi meant the Scorchers succumbed to their first ever defeat against the Melbourne based franchise.
Sydney Sixers, on the other hand, will kickstart their campaign on Saturday. The inaugural BBL champions had an underwhelming season last year and will hope to start well this year. They will miss Nathan Lyon in their tournament opener due to Test duty. Joe Denly, who had an outstanding season at the T20 Blast will undeniably be key to the Sixers fortune while skipper Moises Henriques will look to rediscover his mojo after an underwhelming season last year. The likes of Josh Phillipe and Jack Edwards had a great season in the recently concluded JLT Cup and will feature heavily in the playing XI this year while the bowling department will be lead by Sean Abbott and Steven O’Keefe.
