Pakistan Women and Australia Women in Malaysia

Australia will lock horns with Pakistan in Malaysia prior to flying to the Caribbean for the Women’s World Cup coming down the line in November. While Australia men are taking on Pakistan in UAE, Australia Women will be playing 3ODIs and 3T20I in Malaysia starting from October 18. The 3-match ODI series is part of the ICC Women’s ODI Championship. It is a four-yearly round-robin competition which determines the teams who automatically qualify for the next one-day World Cup.

While this will be Australia Women’s first experience in the Asian nation, this series will be the second bilateral series between Australia and Pakistan. A 14-member ODI squad has already flown to Malaysia with Meg Lanning named as captain and Rachael Haynes abiding the vice-captain duties.

Pakistan, on the opposite, is coming after taking on Bangladesh in 4T20I and only ODI earlier in the month. While Pakistan won the 4-match T20I series by 3-0, Bangladesh won the only ODI by 6 wickets.
