Oman was completely throttled in the opening encounter of the three-match series which took place on 19th February by 10 wickets. In a bid to secure the series, the visitors Scotland will enter into the second game which will be played at the same venue as the first one i.e. the Al Amerat Cricket Ground.
It was torrid batting display from Oman who were completely dismantled by the Scottish bowling effort led by Ruaidhri Smith and Adrian Neill who shared 8 wickets between them for just 14 runs. Their accurate bowling meant that Oman was dismissed for a mediocre score of 24 runs in 17.1 overs. Khawar Ali was the only batsmen from Oman to get a double-figure score of 15 runs while the second best was 2 runs from Ajay Lalcheta and M Nadeem.
A target of 24 runs was always going to be a walk in the park for Scotland as it just took them as many as 20 deliveries to reach the target with all their wickets intact. wicket-keeper Matthew Cross was unbeaten on 10 while skipper Kyle Coetzer carried his bat with 16 runs to his name.
Not much can be expected from Oman after their debacle in the first game which means Scotland will once again have the upper hand going into this crucial game.
