Vitality T20 Blast, 2018

Lancashire Lightning vs Worcestershire Rapids 6th Match Preview

Worcester Rapids will kickstart their 2018 Vitality Blast campaign on Thursday night where they take on Lancashire Lightning in what is expected to be a riveting encounter at Old Trafford.

Worcestershire Rapids boast of a potent squad this time around, having lent the services of overseas T20 superstars in Martin Guptill, Travis Head and Callum Ferguson. Rose Whitley, the first ever Englishman to score six sixes in an over, will be a crucial component of their batting-order, while D’Oliveira (nine wickets in 10 matches) will be pivotal in the bowling line-up.

Their opponents in Lancashire Lightning will be lead by Liam Livingstone and boast of Aussie all-rounder James Faulkner (2015 Blast winner) and Joe Mennie as overseas signings. On the bowling front, leg-spinner Matthew Parkinson (14 wickets in nine matches last season) will hold the key for LAN, if they are to make significant progress in the tournament, after having finished at an abysmal seventh spot.
