Karnataka vs Mumbai, Elite Group A and B
Next up is the Group A and B clash between Mumbai and Karnataka which will be played at the Karnataka State Cricket Association stadium in Belagavi. This would be the second game for both these sides with their first games ended up in a draw.
Mumbai played a draw against Railways whereas, Karnataka played a draw against the defending champions Vidarbha. Karnataka’s opener Dega Nischal scored a magnificent ton in the first innings and got an aid in the form of wicketkeeper-batsman Sharath BR who himself got to his hundred scoring 103. The duo helped Karnataka to take a 71 run lead in the first innings but, their batting flattered in the second innings as they were reduced to 77-6 before the umpires called it a day.
On the other hand, the heavy batting line-up of Mumbai got themselves going with a score of 411 in their first innings. Shivam Dubey got 114 to his name while Siddhesh Lad missed out on a deserving ton by a single run. In reply, Railways got 307 on the board which meant Mumbai got a fair first innings lead of 104 runs. The match could only last to three innings which accounted in a draw on the last day.
