The second semi-final of Afghanistan Premier League will witness Kabul Zwanan and Paktia Panthers locking horns for the third time. Both the teams met for the first time in the opening encounter in which Kabul Zwanan registered 3 wickets win over Panthers.  In their second encounter, Paktia  Panthers thrashed Kabul Zwanan with 6 wickets remaining while chasing 169 runs target set by  Zwanan.

Both the teams have met twice in group encounters with each turning out to be the winner at one-one occasion. The winner will fight with Balkh Legends/Nangarhar Leopards  for title win in Sunday’s final.

Last Encounter:

After winning the toss, Kabul  Zwanan opted to bat first and set the target. With the help of Wayne Parnell’s 42 and Colin Ingram’s  unbeaten 83 of 51 deliveries,  Zwanan posted 168  runs at the loss of 4 wickets on the board. In response,  Panthers rode on Skipper M Shahzad’s 37 ball 62 at the top and Shahid Afridi’s blistering 19 ball 30 to register 6 wickets win with 2 balls to spare.

In two group encounters, both the teams have registered one win each and it will be interesting to watch who handles the knockout pressure better.
