India Tour of New Zealand | India vs New Zealand 1st ODI | Today Match Prediction

High-Flying India is in New Zealand for their challenge. After scripting history in the longest format of the game by 2-1 victory and clinching the first ever bilateral ODI series by 2-1, the Men in  Blue are high on confidence.

India skipper Virat Kohli, who bagged top three honours at ICC events on Tuesday, would be looking to register another feat as it has been almost 10 years since India last registered a series win in New Zealand. In their last outing in 2014, the visitors faced a 0-4 drubbing in the limited overs series. However, with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu in the batting line up and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in the bowling ranks, team India has a fair opportunity to improve the records.

The hosts, however, look equally strong after clean-sweeping Sri Lanka by 3-0. Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholls, Martin Guptill, and Kane Williamson are in optimum form and centuries from each of them in the recently concluded series proves that India’s road will not be that easy. New Zealand posted three 300-plus totals in the series and with Ish Sodhi, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult and Tim Southee in the bowling rank a cracking high-voltage series is certain.

Both the sides will lock horns in the first of the five matches series tomorrow morning.
