The Ranji Trophy, four-day domestic, has just become grander. Instead of 28 teams taking part till the last edition, the 2018-19 edition consists of 37 teams which will compete for the title championship.

Gujarat who made it to the quarterfinals round in the last edition will begin their campaign against Baroda at Moti Bagh Stadium, Vadodara on Thursday morning. Gujarat won their maiden title in the 2016-17 season and would be desperate for their second title win.

Baroda, on the opposite, has won the title 5 times but have failed to even make it to the quarterfinals in last few editions. The last time Baroda advanced to the business end was in 2011 edition when they finished as runner-ups.
