Windies have put in performances reminiscent of the 1970s and 80s in the first two tests to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, although, it’s too early to call it a revolution in Caribbean cricket. If they are able to complete 3-0 whitewash of England at Gros Islet, there could be a few comparisons with the golden age of Windies cricket.
England are under the pump. In both tests, the batting has let the team down. Expecting reports from Gros Islet, it could get worse. Although, Jason Holder’s absence can help the tourists’ cause. With reports of a quick surface, the pace battery of James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Sam Curran may also feel the heat to deliver.
Windies have been solid with the bat and accurate with the ball. They don’t need to do any different here. If they can keep doing what they have done, Windies could produce another fine win.
Pitch conditions: Gros Islet is expected to be a quick-assisting surface. Vasbert Drakes, West Indies coach, described the pitch as a throwback to the glory days.
