Super Smash, 2018 | Central Districts vs Northern Knights, 4th Match Preview | CD vs NK Who Will Win
As the caravan of the 2018 Super Smash rolls on, Central Districts will square off against defending champions Northern Knights in what is expected to be a crucial encounter for both sides.
The Districts have named a 13-man squad for their tournament opener against the defending champions. Tom Bruce will spearhead the 13-man unit. The batting unit will primarily depend on the likes of Will Young, George Worker, Josh Clarkson and Christian Leopard while the likes of Seth Rance, Blair Tickner, Doug Bracewell and Ben Wheeler will look to carry forward their imperious run-of-form from the recently concluded Ford Trophy.
They will, however, have a tough task on their hands against the defending champions, who are coming off a comprehensive 45-run win against the Wellington Firebirds in their opening encounter. An imperious batting effort that saw the Knights rack up 6-215 in 20 overs was at the heart of their comprehensive win. Skipper Dean Brownlie’s whirlwind 46-ball-99 spearheaded the scintillating batting display by the defending champions and was abely supported by Tim Siefert [46] and handy cameos by Mitchell Santner [22] and Daryl Mitchell [29]. If Dean Brownlie led the batting unit, Anton Devcich’s 4-27 rounded up a near perfect game for NK as they bowled the Firebirds out for 170 in 18.1.
Coming into this game, the Central Districts will have to ensure they are at their imperious best if they are to challenge the rampaging Northern Knights.
