The second clash of Women’s Asia Cup T20 2018 is scheduled between Bangladesh Women and Sri Lanka Women. Coming after a terrific series loss against South Africa women, Bangladesh Women would be looking to kick start the tournament with a win when they face Sri Lanka women tomorrow (June 03) at Royal Selangor Club, Kuala Lumpur. The match will start at 07:00 AM IST or 09:30 AM Local. South Africa women whitewashed Bangladesh women in both -ODIs as well T20Is.

On the opposite, Sri Lanka women faced a major blow when the skipper C Athapaththu and key all-rounder Ama Kanchana got ruled away from the tournament due to dengue.

Bangladesh Women has named a 15-member squad for the tournament. Lily Rani Biswas who hasn’t played a T20I since 2013 World T20 gets a return call along with Ayesha Rahman. Sobhana Mostary, Suraya Azmim, and Murshida Khatun have been omitted after poor performances against South Africa.

Sri Lanka women have also named 15-members squad with S Siriwardena being the skipper. Sri Lanka women management faced a major blow when captain C Athapaththu got ruled out of the tournament due to dengue. Another big blow came when all-rounder Ama Kanchana also got ruled out due to the same reason. S Sririwardene was then named stand-in skipper along with H Perera as the help to the skipper.

The two replacements named are – Harshita Madavi and Inoka Ranaweera. Inoshi Priyadharshani, Yasoda Mendis, and Malsha Shehani are also in contention. Dilani Manodara and Imalka Mendis are omitted from the 15-members squad.
