In the last couple of years, India is witnessing a tremendous growth in the world of gambling. India currently possess 2 million poker and casino players. The number would get double in the next two years if the same growth continues. The reason behind this upsurge is poker games, and gambling games no longer remain a game of luck. But, a game of skill. It’s all mathematical calculation now hence Poker is also a regular profession in the world. International institute like MIT is already offering a professional course on Poker. In India, IIMs are providing the same. Now, joining them in the light is casino training courses, owing to Delta Corp Limited, India has its first casino training institute in Goa.
On Friday, Delta Corp Limited claimed to have set up the first casino game training courses in India. The casino game training courses were set up in 2013 as a part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). “We have had the courses set up since 2013. At first we didn’t find much enthusiasm among students who would apply for the course. People have this taboo that these games are nothing more than gambling. And, gambling is not a popular subject in many countries. Earlier, we did not have fixed rule to who can apply for it,” Anil Malani, President Delta Corp Ltd., said. “But now those who have passed their HSC exams and has some skills in math can apply for this course and explore their dreams.”
“We have a designated batch of 20 courses, and all those courses are of free as of now for the society, zero strings attached,” Malani added. He also claimed that after passing the course, most of the students get recruited in premier hotels like Hyatt or Taj.
