India’s growing fantasy sports website, Dream11 has inked a 5-year exclusive association with International Cricket Council (ICC) for becoming the official fantasy game partner till 2023.
ICC confirmed the partnership in a press release which suggested that they plan to develop and operate fantasy games related to all the ICC events including the World Cup, T20 matches and Test matches across major men, women, qualifier and junior events.
Talking about the partnership, ICC CEO David Richardson said, “The International Cricket Council is delighted to welcome Dream11 on board for delivering a fantasy cricket platform for all the fans of cricket across all ICC events. We want to give our fans an opportunity to enjoy our sport in many more ways by playing cricket throughout the tournament or for individual games.”
CEO and Co-founder of Dream11 Harsh Jain said, “We are excited to be global official Fantasy Game partner of the ICC which is the apex body of cricket. The ICC Dream11 partnership will be providing the best fantasy cricket experience to billions of cricket fans.”
“This partnership means that the cricket fans are in for an engaging experience for helping them to get closer to the real-life cricketing action by the virtue cricketing action by of their ICC Dream11 teams. We aim to revolutionalise the sports sector and act as a catalyst for increasing fantasy cricket adoption from the current base of 4.5 over 10 crores globally.
Recently Dream11 closed a US $100 million series D funding round which was led by Tencent. It has also been a sponsor of the recently concluded India West Indies series and the Asia Cup. Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the brand ambassador of the Dream11.
